Nabakooza TERESA
Bahai kikaya, Uganda | 60 years old
Has 4 children
My name is Nabakooza Teresa, I am 60 years old.
I live in Bahai Kikaya with my 4 children.
I am a widow and the only breadwinner of the family.
Seeing my kids struggle for small things breaks my heart and I want to work to provide them better education so they can make me proud and have a stable job in the future.
All my children are schooling and my eldest son went in search of a job and never returned back. As an uneducated lady, there are not many jobs I can obtain. I have to rely on small jobs like cleaning houses and selling groceries. With 4 children come to their individual necessities and I have not been able to fulfill any. My husband left me at a very young age which left me vulnerable and broken.

We live in a small room which is rented and I have not been paying the landlord for months now. It’s been really hard to even cater food for everyone in the family. There are several nights I sleep hungry to feed my babies.
I have been very lucky that AFIM has now rescued us from our plight and has promised us a good amount of food and essentials. As a part of AFIM, I feel secure and joyed by their support and hope everyone welcomes us as a part of their own family in whichever way possible.
