Have a wife and 5 children

My name is Kabiru Salisu, I am 26 years old.

I live in Nigeria, the inner valley of Kano village with my family.

There are 7 members in my family including me, my wife and our 5 children.

My daughter and son are both crippled since birth and it was diagnosed as a genetic deformity in the family.

I used to be a shoe seller by profession and was the only medium of earning for our family. All my children are still in school, therefore my wife helped with the work.

My daughter and son are both crippled since birth and it was diagnosed as a genetic deformity in the family. As the only bread-winner in the family, I have to manage money for our food, accommodation and their medications. Life has been difficult but we were dealing with it as a family. As the road construction project was carried out  in our area, my shop was demolished and I was not compensated for it. I cannot afford to start a new business or the same shop in other area. It took us a lot of hard work to establish the shop and all our dreams were shattered into pieces. Now, I can't even pay the rent for the place we live and cannot feed my family well. This event has had a negative impact on my family and our strength is falling apart.

AFIM is the only source of light at the end of the tunnel for us. My two crippled children have been monitored and have been provided with proper counselling. We have been donated with little food and essentials. AFIM has been perpetually working for the well-being of our family. We hope that everyone will play a part, be it bigger or small to help our family in need.
