My name is Hawah Mohammed, a resident from Bekwai village of the Ashanti Region.
I am 90 years old and live with my grandchild.
I am a widow and my only child and her spouse died in an accident.
As a widow, with no living children, my family doesn't have a stable source of income.
y grandson lost his parents at a very young age and he has been living with me since. As a 19-year-old, he is very responsible and tries to pay for our accommodation, food, and my medicines. He couldn't continue his studies due to our economic situation. I feel accountable for his current situation as he has to take care of me. He is currently teaching at a private school but that money is not enough to cater essentials for the family. So, I have to unwillingly rely on other people for help. The community people donate us food and fulfill our domestic needs once in a while.
AFIM has been standing up with my family in a hard time and donated us with food and essentials. My grandson has also been assisted to find him a good job so he can pay for further education. AFIM has been a substitute for his parents and I hope everyone else will aid him in whichever way possible.
