My name is Dije Ahmadu, I live in the Kano Village of Nigeria. I am 48 years old, a widow who has to look after 5 children.
My husband passed away at a very young age. We had to use all our savings for his treatment.
As a woman and a mother of five, I had to face a lot of criticism and stigma that tore my strength. Apart from that, seeing my children struggle for food and essentials is really hard for me.
I am an uneducated person and the jobs I get are not reliable enough to pay for all the people in my family. Cleaning is a job I have been doing for a long time but all that money is not enough for our essentials. I am unable to feed my family twice a day and paying the rent is a struggle. I was warned by the landlord to pay the rent and it's very difficult to get the money.
AFIM has been benefiting enough to understand our plight. We have been promised to be provided with enough food and essentials.
My children are also being helped by the members of AFIM and I heartily admire their constant support. We hope that everyone stands by us and works with solidarity to help solve our problem.
