Essoun Ekua
Cape coast in the Central region of Ghana
My name is Essoun Ekua. I am 70 years old.
I live in the Cape coast in the central region of Ghana.
I believe that in life, there is nothing more bitter than the loss of your beloved ones, and when those are your sons, your pain becomes unbearable. I live in deep sadness after the death of my children.
I share this tragedy with my husband, who has been my source of power. The psychological event we endured left us broken-hearted and hopeless to earn a living. We lack the standards of a respectable life in being without work, elderly, and the accompanying health complications. We currently depend on people's charity in our livelihood. Being alive in itself is a miracle. The place in which we reside is not a house and it fails to shelter us from the environment.
Thank you Africa in Me for being with us during the tough times. They gave us food and clothes, and I hope that all the world would find ways of supporting the needy.
