My name is Akwi Norah, I am 58 years old, currently living in Uganda Eastern, Bukedea Kachumbala. I am a widow and I live with my 4 children, and I work as a farmer.

As we all know, this year has been tough for everyone but it has been very hard for farmers due to the extreme drought.

 

Our only source of income is farming. I have a family to feed and it’s been difficult to find food for everyone. One of my boys is working as a laborer but together we don't earn enough to feed the whole family. This year we had rebel and karamojong raids and they took the little food and essentials we had. As I am growing older, my back hurts all the time and working in the field is tough. We have been searching for other jobs but Covid has held us back.

We are out of food and my children are starving and I need to find a job that can feed my family. We need more help from others willing to help us and save us by giving as much as they can. We are thankful for your help.
