Uganda, Central Region | 38 years old
Has a family of 10 members
My name is Kisarach Scovia, I am 38 years old. I live in Uganda, central region, kampala town, kyebando kisalosalo village. There are 10 members in my family including myself, my wife and our 8 children.
All I do for a living is collect wood from the jungle and sell them to the people. This time of pandemic has worsened my problems as no one is there to buy the wood.
As a parent of 8 children, 5 of my children are still underage and I have to be there to manage their schooling. As a hawker, the income I have is really less and the pandemic has hit my occupation really hard. My job is travelling and selling which is nearly impossible right now. My wife has been supporting the family with her hustles around the community.
There is no way I am able to feed all my family with nutritious food and provide them the essentials they require. The dream of providing proper schooling to my kids has been swept away due to the economic crisis. Our rental residence is also a problem as we haven’t being able to pay the landlord on time.
One day a fortunate event happened, The Africa In Me visited me and they understood my plight and decided to help me. This was a moment of joy as I could feed my family and help them with their essentials. They visited me and donated enough food and essentials. I cannot thank them enough for their generosity. This organization is here for change and helping them with funds is helping us as they promised to find me a job and assist my niece and nephew with getting sustainable careers. Thank you for the donations and we hope that in the future the help you provide will help shape the people to live life better.
